Your Chibi carries no GPS, no location tags, no batteries, and no network connection. It never knows where it is and never reports anything to anyone. The NFC chip and QR code are completely passive: they only respond when someone deliberately taps or scans them from a few centimeters away. If your Chibi ever goes missing, recovery works the honest, human way: a good samaritan finds it, scans the QR code, and sends a report through chibis.ch/lost. That scan is the code's one and only job. Nothing on the keychain can locate, track, or monitor anyone.

What is an NFC keychain and how does a Chibi work?
A Chibi is a 3D-printed NFC keychain designed and hand-finished in Switzerland, with a small passive NFC chip inside. Hold it against a modern smartphone and the phone instantly opens the link you stored: your website, vCard, Instagram, or any URL. No app and no battery needed.
Does my Chibi track my location?
No, never. A Chibi has no GPS, no battery, and no network connection. The NFC chip and the QR code are completely passive and only respond when someone deliberately taps or scans them from a few centimeters away. Nothing on the keychain can locate or monitor you.
Which phones work with a Chibi?
Practically all modern smartphones. iPhones read NFC tags natively without any app, and virtually every recent Android phone does too. Older phones can simply scan the QR code instead.
How does the Lost & Found service work?
Every Chibi carries an engraved serial number and a QR code sealed under scratch-resistant epoxy resin. If someone finds your lost keys, they scan the code and send a report through chibis.ch/lost. We notify you privately: the finder never sees your contact details, and you never see theirs.
Can I change the stored link later?
Yes, as often as you like. The NFC chip is re-programmable in seconds with your own phone. No app, no account, no subscription.
Is my personal data safe?
Yes. Chibis is built privacy-first in Switzerland and operates in accordance with Swiss data protection law (revDSG). Lost & Found reports are used only to reunite you with your keychain. Contact details are never sold or used for marketing.
